ITGen’s Rescued Border Collie Mai Xuanfeng Finds His Forever Home
In June, our ITGen team encountered a lost Border Collie who would soon be known as Mai Xuanfeng. Found wandering the streets and unable to find his way home, the intelligent dog approached our colleague Ms. Chen and faithfully followed her back to our facility. Understanding the importance of immediate health assessment for stray animals, our team promptly conducted essential health screenings using the ITGEN Canine Distemper Virus Antigen Rapid Test and ITGEN Canine Parvovirus Antigen Rapid Test. These crucial tests, part of our comprehensive Animal diagnostics protocol, showed that Mai Xuanfeng was fortunately free from these dangerous viruses, allowing him to safely interact with our office Border Collie, Coffee.
While Mai Xuanfeng enjoyed playing with his new canine friend, we actively searched for his original owners. We posted “lost dog” notices throughout the neighborhood and waited for a month, but unfortunately, no one came forward to claim him. Committed to finding him a loving home, we shared his story online, where a compassionate couple saw his photo and immediately expressed interest in providing him with a permanent home.
Weeks after the adoption, the new owners sent us heartwarming photos celebrating Mai Xuanfeng’s birthday, clearly showing how well he had adjusted to his new environment. The images captured a happy, thriving dog who had finally found the loving family he deserved.

The Importance of Veterinary Diagnostics in Animal Rescue
Mai Xuanfeng’s story highlights the critical role of Veterinary diagnostics in animal rescue operations. When encountering stray animals, it’s essential to quickly identify potential health threats like canine distemper and parvovirus, both highly contagious and often fatal diseases. Canine distemper typically presents with symptoms including fever, nasal discharge, coughing, lethargy, vomiting, and neurological signs, while parvovirus causes severe vomiting, bloody diarrhea, loss of appetite, and dehydration. Early detection through reliable Pet diagnostics allows for immediate isolation and treatment, protecting other animals and ensuring the best outcome for the rescued animal.
